RECENT FUNNY INCIDENTS !?                                                                              My wife accompanied me ,one morning to the nearby Heritage Fresh super market by walk with my bicycle as a walking stick for me that day.The usual daily errand is my job. After purchases of groceries including a sweep-broom,we paid with debit card.Well before my bill was ready ,my wife got out in her quest for a paid auto to fetch the heavy load.Considering it a chance luck to get one,she does it and all the while ,i was not aware of this effort..Having noticed the auto i requested the boy in HF to carry the bag to auto rickshaw.
Well, she left and i was to follow with my bicycle. But to my surprise and later consternation, the sales girl asked me to wait for 1 for 1 free offer and came with "sweep-broom"that was! I had to figure it out as to how to carry it on my sports cycle, without a carriage.I planned and tethered it to my cycle main frame with a string i could secure with much difficulty from HF.
In the noon of the same day, my daughter"s new mobile phone was to be activated on number portability from Airtel to Idea. The new sim inserted in the handset. The process of activation required one prescribed norm. On getting Idea lines"may i help " service to the customers-,asked us to narrate our address. My daughter done so,they asked her to repeat it 2 to 3 times saying ,address is incomplete without lane name!.There is no name as such .They rejected to activate it.we failed  to understand ,what they meant. On contacting the marketing manager ,he repeated our address from his records, wherein ,land mark given by us,was added on with another land mark by him to the effect -"lane adjacent to DC show room".Earlier during our futile efforts ,we in fact said lane "after DC S.ROOM".Funniest part of it was ,they took "adjacent" as lane name, that is their knowledge of English language. Finally on contacting  Help desk once again, the connection was activated much to our relief. These days ,nobody can be without "a phone/cell phone".
Later in the evening we three were laughing it out.

NEPAL -VISIT

We embarked on our maiden visit to Nepal up on 8 June 2016. It was jointly planned by my daughters, and itinerary was executed by Sowmya.

We flew by jet airways via Bombay, starting at Hyderabad airport by 7.20 am on 8 June, reached Kathmandu by 1.45 pm. We got cab pickup by royal penguin restaurant, booked by us. Refreshed and after room served lunch, rested till 7 pm. We went by casual walk in the dark streets, which were being re-laid-to Darbar square.it was, once kings palace, housing Shiva Parvathi temple along with Hanuman, Shakti temples. On return to the hotel by 8.45 pm ,had our soup and Biryani sweet curd, very spicy hot potato curry, at the ground floor ,before going for days winding up sleep on the second floor ,spacious room.
Next day, 9 June we started by 9.30 am, after breakfast, by a van to visit Buddhist monastery, atop a hill, then we reached Pasupatinath temple by 11 am. A nice self-appointed guide gave exhaustive briefing, as to its history. Abhishekam, being performed at that time to Pancha mukha shivalinga. And devotees have the privilege to view the linga deity, through four windows on the square, sanctum. Other minor temples in the compound, we briefly visited. The main temple gopuram is gold plated, as well the huge Nandi idol sitting outside, as if paying it’s obeisance to the lord.
Then for our lunch at 2 pm at Sangam hotel - dosa, utappam and roti as ordered for us. Then we proceeded to Swayabhunath stupa on a hill with 60 to 80 steps to climb up. I opted out to climb up. Feeling tired .the stupa is huge with only, eyes, and red nose, not regular Buddha. Returned to the hotel by 6 pm.
On 10th June, starting by 9.30 am, after breakfast visited Bhaktapur Darbar square, where Kalabhairava temple, Tuljabhavani, Kedarnath, Dattatreya temples in dis-use. Then visited Budda neelakanta, temple, where lord Vishnu’s very huge deity type idol is located in a big pond of water, in yoga nidra posture.it is very impressive. Thereafter, we went to darbar square, on shopping spree in the shops in narrow lanes, nearby. Returned to the hotel by evening and after dinner with plain rice and curd/ pickle, retired to sleep.
On 11thjune we woke up by 4am, for a flight from Kathmandu airport to a place called Pokhra, some 300km as a retreat. But to the surprise of my wife and me, we 4 of us were booked daughters for a Mountain View flight by a light aircraft, with a capacity of 30 persons. Yeti airlines in arrangement with Buddha air took us for an aerial view flight of mount Himalayas, by 8am flight. We never, even dreamt of such eventuality to watch Himalayas at close range. The air hostess, guided each one of us pointing the mountain peaks by name, Everest, Annapurna, and gourisankar etc. We were taken in an order for a cockpit view also. This flight is quite exhilarating and permanently etched in memory.
After, 45minutes, we landed back in the capital, boarded flight to pokhra for 2day stay.by 1030am reported at Adam hotel, allotted ,lake view room in the second floor. After lunch with poori  and curry and sandwich etc.in the early evening, went to see "world peace pagoda" a Buddhist stupa, had to give up mid-way the hill path as it was near impossible to go that rugged road and also steep  steps, thereafter. Returned to the huge lake side. Spent time there till sunset and returned to the hotel
Next day went to Gupteswara Mahadev cave, which is deep 60 to 70 rugged steps.as is wont, I preferred not to go down, but stay up! The rest returned with varied experience, tired also.it is reported by them that there is under ground water fall there in! Returned to the hotel and at 5 pm went for a boat ride in the phewa lake for 1 hour, amidst the lake there is temple. Retired to sleep after dinner at nearby hotel,
On early morning by 4 am started by car, on 12 June to view sunrise atop a hill, where one can watch clear view of mount Annapurna.
Unfortunately, for us it was raining heavily at that time--despite this we proceeded with hope. But the rains stopped not! We returned disappointed. Slept overnight, and took flight by 13th June, 1 pm to Kathmandu reaching there by 3 pm, to report to another hotel for overnight stay. In the evening we once again visited pasupatinath temple and sowndarya preferred; shopping. Took  overnight rest and by 3.30 pm flight from Kathmandu landed at new Delhi airport, by 5 pm .after ,2 hours of halt caught 8.30 pm flight to Hyderabad, landed at 11 pm and back home by 12.30 am.
One is to have a valid passport to visit Nepal and no visa is required for Indian nationals.
Our daughters required and deserved rest and retreat vacation and we as parents inserted/ included for this courtesy!

Refreshing change on my recent visit to Native town.

For attending a wedding on 19th Wednesday ,On 18th March, i proceeded to Guntur by Falaknama exp train by 3a/c coach, departing at Secunderabad
station at 4 pm and arrived at Gnt town by 8.35 pm ;covering a distance of about 300km.
This train was my uncle, Sivaram(kakkayya-suffix for younger uncles) preferred to come to our town in
years 2000, with a sense of satisfaction, that it just took 4 hrs( those days) as Non-stop train to Gnt.

Checked into Sankar vilas , residency by 9pm, just a casual walk of 10 minutes from station, in Brodiepet locality. It, along with Arundelpet locality sandwiched by a main road; those days ( 1940s) these were localities were predominently residential ones for the Brahmin community.

After, my dinner with just a plate of sambar Idly and sweet lassi in the connected Sankar hotel, reired
for sleep.
On the morning( 19th) next day, at 6am , after early shower and breakfast of upma and cofee by city bus went to
Parinayam wedding hall located on popular Ring -road at Vidyanagar by 9am. It is a wedding of Ms Anusha, daughter of my friend for over 5decades, Seenu.pleased to have seen so many of my old acquaintances there. Had wedding lunch , at 12.30 pm.
I proceeded to visit my former colleague sri P v subbarao and his wife at Ashoknagar, returned to
Sankar vilas residency by 3pm. After 1 and half hour of rest, went to Nehrunagar to meet my friends, and
on return, at Arundelpet had my hair-do, overdue by 2 months ( very cheap at Rs 40 ,where as its 150Rs at Banjarahills ,Hyd"bad ), there in Guntur itself around 5.30pm.
Have had a Summer Beer with my friend Mr Raghuram, just 1 bottle! On return to residency after dinner
of sambar Idly and lassi reired to sleep.
Early mornning,( of 20th) at 4 am ,woke up on my Alarm in my mobile, had bath and checked-out by 5 am,walked
down near by Railway station , boarded Train Palnad express leaving by 5.45am to Secunderabad.
Reached Sec"bad station by 11.15am and changing 2 city buses returned home by 2pm.
Remarkable, is i just had to take public transport at hyderabad and walk at Guntur for railway stations.
One more thing, i had enjoyed Tri-cycle (rickshaw) ride at Guntur, having the satisfaction feeding poor,
rickshaw puller incidentally ; instead of paying over-fed Auto driver at Guntur !!

This is my second blog, after the first one in December2013 and only excuse i can cite is my 2nd
Cataract surgery of the left eye on 18th Jan"2014. my vision is now is perfectly clear and you may expect
my next blog any time, IF , the Facebook does not fester me!( possible excuse defence)

WINTER OF 2013 for Narasimharao Vallabhajosyula

Just like "come September" ,this is my first Winter in my life while trying to figure out, whats this
Blogging business.I am very familiar with e-mailing etc relating to Internet and recently ,a few months ago
got attuned to ' Face Book" and admit frankly ,i would like to be with this internet business with a weekly
periodicity only, to avoid  I- ADDICTION, and only addicted to my " I " SEARCHING .
Narrate briefly about my experience of a recent excursion to MALPE, a small, yet a popular tourist resort
area.WE, our family of 4 camped there at ' Paradise Isle residency: from 25th Dec till 28th Dec; 10 am.

we flew from Hyderabad by Spice jet at 730am ,to land at 9am at Mangalore, the West coast-
a nature precious western ghats- hills belt extending from southern tip of India, Kerala state upto
Gujarat state ;passing thru  Maharashtra.
From where, we motored down to Malpe ,some 60 Km on the beach of Arabian sea, the spot called
St Marys beach, checking in at the residency . For rest of the day, we relaxed on the beach in the evenning
till Sun set, sun setting over the horison on the sea.our viewing sun set over a sea for the first time
in life.

of course, at Kanyakumari in Kerala , a few years ago ,simultaneously
saw both sun rise and sun set ,over the confluence of Bay of Bengal ,Indian ocean and
Arabian sea.
Next day , we visited by cab, Murudeswar' a sea side temple of Lord Siva, where a huge siva murty,
a statue in sitting posture erected , ashore adjasent to temple. Its some 60km from Malpe . From there we
proceeded to  Mookambika temple, and i take it as another form of Goddess Saraswati, the goddess
of intelligence ( worshipped as such). its another 70km away, we travelled there.
We returned to base camp by 5pm,starting in the mornning at 9am after sumptuous! breakfast.
That was on 26th instant. On 27th Dec we , rested , visiting beach in the mornning and evenning.
In fact, at 10am we , briefly sailed to a very small un-inhabited island, about 5km away, to return  by
1230pm for lunch.

On 28th Dec, starting on our return journey , enroute Mangalore; we visited a well known
temple of Lord Krishna at Udipi. we, in our childhood/  boyhood days have hotels in our native
place Guntur, named so and called UDIPI hotels, run by udipi brahmins, in 1950s till 1980s

we flew back by Spicejet, by 3.30pm flight, landing at 5pm.
Thus we really enjoyed our sojourn with daughters Sowndarya and Sowmya.
